Course Outcomes

 

1.    Determine the purpose for communicating.

Instructor’s Expectation

 

1.    Promptly attend and actively participate in each class.

2.    Do not miss class except in cases of emergencies, or illness. If you must miss class, please call (425) 564-5729 and leave a message, or e-mail me at h.songstad@bellevuecollege.edu.

3.    Share ideas during class and complete all class work and homework activities.

4.    Be respectful of yourself and others when sharing ideas.

5.    Ask questions or request clarification about topics, class activities and/or assignments.

6.    Establish and reevaluate individual goals throughout the quarter.

7.    Turn in all assigned work on time.  If you miss class or must leave early for any reason, it is your responsibility to e-mail or call the instructor to ask for missed work.  The instructor will then reply to your e-mail or phone call with instructions for making up missed work.

8.    Cheating, plagiarism, and class disruptions will not be tolerated.  Students who cheat, plagiarize, or disrupt the class will be dropped from class. 

9.    Turn off your cell phones before class starts.

Grading and Evaluation   

 

1.    Assessment will be given throughout the quarter at individual levels based on attendance, class work, and homework.

2.    Recommendation will be given at the end of the quarter for continued class participation or advancement.

3.    All homework assignments are due on the due date.  Each assignment will be graded based on the completeness of the assignment. 

 

M An English assignment is complete when all directions are followed.  Each assignment will have individual criteria. 

 

Each assignment will be graded based on it’s grading rubric.  You will receive a 0-4 point grade for your assignments.  Assignments that receive a 2 or lower must be corrected and re-submitted.
