We must treat each other with dignity and respect even when we have different ideas.  We will use professional behavior that does not disturb others. Student Procedures and Expectations policies can be looked at on www.bcc.ctc.edu/artshum

Students with verified and documented educational disabilities must demonstrate the same progress as other students with reasonable accommodations, such as additional time. It is the responsibility of the student, requesting reasonable accommodation, to provide verification of disability and to disclose this information to the program and to the office of Disability Support Services. The phone number for DSS is 564-2498.

Student Privacy.  We respond only to direct inquiries from students.  We discourage third parties (parents, spouses, and friends) from involving themselves, because this can slow student growth and progress. We do this because we are committed to student self-advocacy and independence. We also do it because federal law (the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) mandates that we protect the privacy of student education records, and BCC policy mandates that we keep academic performance as a matter between the institution and the student. Requests by students to include third parties in any instructor-student discussion of academic performance will be considered on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the instructor. You may see the full text of this entire policy Arts and Humanities Commitment to Student Growth and Developmental www.bcc.ctc.edu/artshum.

The students in this program often like to do nice things for their teachers at the end of the quarter. A card with words from all the students, flowers and food are good ways to thank your teacher. You do not need to buy your teacher a gift or give money.
