Professional Technical education offers two options
for students wanting to prepare for an occupation--a two year Associate in
Arts Degree in one of our professional technical programs or various certificates.
Students are prepared to compete successfully in the job market. You may choose
from degree or certiciate programs as follows:

Transfer Programs offer associate degrees
which are the first two years of a four-year degree. BCC has articulation
agreements with over 19 colleges and universities that accept our students
as juniors when they transfer with an Associate in Arts & Sciences degree.
At BCC you would pre-major in the following areas:
General Studies offers various options for students:
Associate in General Studies(pdf format) is a degree for students who are not planning to transfer
to a four-year institution.
Skill Development does not lead to a degree or certificate, meeting
student needs as follows:
Basic Skill Development for students requiring basic reading, writing
or mathematics.
English as a Second Language is for non-native students needing
to learn English.
General
Education Development (GED)courses are available for students
to prepare for the GED exam. There is a fee paid for taking the GED exam,
but courses are free.
Continuing Educationis for students not interested in credits or pursuing a degree. Courses
focus on immediate needs and are taught by excellent instructors current in
their field. Offerings range from three-hour workshops to ten-week classes.
BCC has the largest, most comprehensive selection of Continuing Education
courses at any community college in the region.
Arts and Personal
Enrichment
Select from courses in drama, dance, music, literature, art history, sculpture,
crafts, drawing and painting. Meet personal goals through learning about
financial planning, sports and recreation, science, home technologies,
health and fitness, family life and travel.
Business and
Professional Development Small Business: Begin a small business with advising from our Small
Business Development Advisor. Get help at all stages of your business
growth in finance, marketing and management skills.
Professionals: Courses in communication, supervisory skills, career planning,
total quality management, doing business internationally, world languages
for business.
Specialties: Keep up-to-date with information from practicing professionals
in manufacturing, health care, non-profit management, cabinetry, film
and TV, among others.
Computers
Over 250 courses in the latest software, for people from cautious beginners
to proficient technical specialists. Introductory courses, office applications,
desktop publishing, drawing, multimedia, programming, networking and troubleshooting
all taught off-campus in comfortable, state-of-the-art classrooms.
Telos
A program for senior adults co-sponsored by the Bellevue Parks Department.
Course offerings are selected by a board of seniors, with low fees and
a social support network that extend beyond the classes.
Career Center
Workshops and discussion groups to meet many special needs for nominal
fees.
