Talk Time provides a non-critical, low risk, supportive environment for Limited English Speakers to:What happens at a Talk Time session?
How is Talk Time different from a class?
The emphasis is on friendship roles where knowledge, cultural information and opinions can be shared between social equals, not teacher and student.
Communication is achieved by pictures, gestures, drawings, mime, smiles and great intuitive leaps!
Friendships are formed and cultures shared as participants help each other to get their meanings across.
Do I need teaching experience to help with Talk Time?
Volunteers need only an interest in sharing their culture and experiences and learning about people from other countries. Training and ongoing support is provided.
