I have been teaching at BCC for more than 10 years. When I came to this country in 1993, I began working with ESL students in TalkTime and in the classroom as a volunteer. That is when I had an opportunity to create a class called Preparing for Work. It began in 1997 and I have been teaching in the program since that time. I love working with students, helping them to improve their skills and seeing their confidence grow. Students quickly feel comfortable in my classes. Recently, I developed a new class “On the job Communications” which is very popular with the level 6 students. My background is HR and training. I have worked with businesses to develop training and have taught workplace ESL. I also write resumes: really good ones! This is helpful to students who need clear direction with this. Students who work hard and have good attendance leave the Preparing for Work program with an outstanding resume. I am also good at recognizing talent. I ‘recruit’ volunteers who have the time and skills to help in the program and encourage them to connect with others. My classes quickly feel like a community. Students bond well and help each other. There is a good rapport between us all and students learn lots. I look forward to helping you develop your skills and confidence too.

Instructor for
the Intermediate and Advanced Preparing for Work classes. She began
teaching Preparing for Work classes in 1999. These classes help students
prepare for work and improve their English skills.
"We practice reading, speaking, listening and writing. We also practice many job skills like filling out job applications, writing a resume and understanding interview questions. After this class many students have the confidence to find a new job or are more successful in their current jobs. I would like to help you to improve your English and job skills too!"
