BELLEVUE WOMEN’S GOLF WINS AT CENTRALIA; MEN FINISH 5TH

Fall golf season for NWAACC started off with the Centralia College Golf Tournament, Sunday, Sept. 30-Monday, Oct. 1, at the Riverside Golf Club in Chehalis. The four-member Bellevue College women’s golf team jumped right in, despite the wind and fast greens, to finish in first place, 547 over 570 for the second place Southwest Oregon CC women. BC freshman Suchada Anusuriya medaled for the women individually, followed by the three BC sophomores Corey Rois (5th), Kayce Ogishima (T10), and Jamie Kirsila (T12). The Bellevue men’s team of Colten Kleis, Ryan Maul, Jack Strickland, and JJ Schultz finished in a three-way tie for fifth place in the tournament. Individually, Kleis tied for sixth.

The teams travel next to the Tri-Cities to take part in the CBC Invitational at Horn Rapids GC (Oct. 6), Canyon Lakes GC (Oct. 7), and Sun Willows GC (Oct. 8).
