After losing their first game of the March 7-9 weekend in a close battle, the Bellevue College Bulldogs rebounded to win four straight games, going 4-1 at the RAC Inter-Region Tournament in Lacey. On Friday, the Bulldogs opened up with Chemeketa CC.  After holding on to a 1-0 lead through six, Chemeketa was able to muster two runs in the bottom of the seventh to win 2-1. Despite the loss, BC’s Brielle Bray threw a strong seven innings.

After getting just one run in the first game of the weekend, the Bulldog bats caught fire as they scored 47 runs and pounded out nine home runs in the next four games, getting offensive production from the entire team. The Bulldogs beat Southwest Oregon CC 12-3 on Friday, Green River CC 8-0 on a rain-soaked Saturday, then Lower Columbia CC 8-2 and Highline CC 19-5 on Sunday.

Hannah Sauget picked up two wins on the weekend, while Brooke Bonsen and Bray each collected a win from the circle. Offensively, Halee Ross was dominated with the short game, while Brianne Cossey, Bray, Alex Kubeska, Hannah Sauget, Katie Jackson (x2), Lauren Burchak and Erin Scott each collected home runs on the weekend. In addition, Taylor Pottschmidt hit her first-ever out-of-the park home run, slapping a grand slam over the centerfield fence!

Overall, it was a great weekend for the Bulldog softball team.  Up next, the Dawgs take on a four-year school, traveling to the University of Puget Sound for a doubleheader this Thursday, March 13 at 2 pm.
