After a heartbreaking overtime loss in their season opener, Bellevue College men’s basketball responded this weekend by winning all three of their games and cruised to the title of the Pierce College Thanksgiving Classic. The Bulldogs defeated Clackamas (OR) handily by a score of 71-56 in the championship game on Sunday November 30.  Returning guard Dominique Jordan was named the MVP of the tourney after scoring 56 points over the weekend. Fellow guard Jalen Ward was also named to the all-tourney team. In their opener on Friday November 28, Bellevue defeated Green River 70-68 and nearly lost it as BC held a 14 point lead at halftime. Jordan was red hot from the perimeter, sinking five of seven from three-point range to lead BC with 22 points. On Saturday November 29, the Bulldogs squared off against a familiar face, as they took on Shoreline, who is now coached by former Bellevue assistant, Donald Brady.  After holding Shoreline to just 19 points in the first half, Bellevue went on to an easy 60-46 win. Dom Holub had 12 points and seven rebounds. Ward chipped in 11 points and also had seven rebounds. Sophomore Anthony McLaughlin had nine rebounds and also four steals. In the title game against Clackamas, Jordan not only led BC with 22 points, but also had 6 assists and 4 steals as well en route to his MVP honors. McLaughlin had 10 rebounds while newcomer Isaiah Richmond was a key contributor with 9 points, 9 rebounds, 2 steals, and 2 blocked shots. Bellevue has three games in a four-day span coming up as they host Highline on Thursday December 4 at 7PM, a team that is 3-0, in a battle that is expected to be a clash between two of the top teams in the NWAC this year. On Saturday December 6, the Bulldogs travel to play at Tacoma at 5PM before venturing off to Aberdeen to take on Grays Harbor on Sunday December 7 for a 3PM game.
