Bellevue College men’s basketball continued their winning ways by capturing the title in their own tourney, the Bulldog Classic, by winning three games over the weekend to run their record to 9-1 overall. Bellevue defeated Highline 68-61 in the championship on Sunday December 14. On Friday December 12, BC defeated Wenatchee Valley 62-57. Up by one with 50 seconds to go, Wenatchee Valley could not get the go-ahead point as the Bulldogs held off the Knights. Dominique Jordan’s hot hand from the perimeter led Bellevue with 22 points as he drained 10 of 17 from the field and was 2-for-3 from 3-point land. On Saturday December 13, Bellevue defeated Portland 82-69. The game was a re-match of one of the closest games at last year’s NWAC tourney. Dom Smith had 12 points and eight rebounds in a balanced attack that also featured double digit scoring from Jalen Ward (16 points), Jordan (14), Anthony McLaughlin (11), and Dom Holub (10).  In the championship, Jordan scored 20 points as BC defeated Highline for the second time this season. McLaughline added 14 points on 7-for-11 shooting and led the Bulldogs with eight rebounds.  The Bulldogs, ranked second in the initial NWAC Coaches’ Poll, is off to one their hottest starts in years.  Bellevue travels to Moses Lake for the Big Bend Crossover this weekend Thursday December 18-Saturday December 20.
