Bellevue College men’s basketball rebounded back after an opening night loss to take third in the Big Bend Crossover Tourney in Moses Lake, WA. On Thursday December 18, Bellevue lost in the opening round to Pierce College, 79-72. Guards Jalen Ward (26 points) and Dominique Jordan  (23) led BC. Brian Zehr added 10 points and led the Bulldogs with eight rebounds as well.

On day two, Bellevue came back to defeat Blue Mountain (OR) 72-56. The backcourt duo of Ward and Jordan led BC with 16 and 15 points respectively. Cory Nevin chipped in 12 points also.

On Saturday December 20, BC topped SW Oregon 83-71 to take third place. Zehr, a freshman, had a breakout night by scoring 25 points and snagging 17 rebounds. Zehr was 10-for-17 from the field and a perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line. All week long, the Bulldogs played with a thin roster, as only seven players were able to suit up and play for three consecutive nights in a row. The Bulldogs closed out the month with the top record in the NWAC at 11-2. Bellevue’s men do not play again until after the new year, with games scheduled January 3 at Yakima Valley (2 PM start) and January 4 at home vs. Grays Harbor (3 PM start).
