Bellevue College women’s basketball defeated Douglas College 68-47 yesterday in the Bulldogs’ final non-league game of the pre-season. Playing with only five players (several injured or ill this week) who played the entire 40 minutes, Bellevue took a commanding 38-19 lead into the locker room at halftime. Douglas played evenly with Bellevue in the second half after the damage was already done in the first half. Mikayla Jones poured in 28 points and also had four steals and five assists to lead the Bulldogs. Shelby Kassuba, who is coming off an all-tournament team performance in the recent Skagit Valley Tourney, had 18 points and nine rebounds. Eboney Jackson had 14 points and led BC with 10 rebounds.  Bellevue opens up league play next Saturday January 10 at 4PM hosting Shoreline.
