Last night the Bellevue College men’s basketball team rallied back from a halftime deficit on the road to win one of their biggest games of the year, 79-72 over Skagit Valley. Bellevue won in part at the free throw line as they outscored the Cardinals 29-13 at the charity stripe, as Dom Holub sank 13-of-14 from the line en route to a season-high 26 points to lead the ‘dogs. Skagit had one player foul out and had three in danger of fouling out as BC overtook the Cardinals. Jalen Ward added 17 points and five rebounds while Dominique Jordan and Anthony McLaughlin each chipped in 11. Bellevue’s next game is a huge one; on the road at Edmonds this Wednesday February 18 with a 7PM tipoff. In their initial go-around, BC topped the Tritons on Bellevue’s home court, but needed overtime in order to earn the victory. A win over Edmonds this Wednesday would give the Bulldogs some cushion for the North Region title, as Edmonds is their nearest chaser at 9-1 while Bellevue sits atop the North Region at 10-0. BC men’s basketball continues to be the dominant team in the NWAC, ranked #1 in all polls and is 23-2 on the year with a 14-game win streak.
