Bellevue College men’s basketball capped off another successful year under the helm of Head Coach Jeremy Eggers as the Bulldogs placed fifth overall at the NWAC Championships, held recently at the Toyota Center in Kennewick, WA. In a tournament in which anyone could win, many of Bellevue’s games came down to the wire, including the quarter-final loss to Clark College who would ultimately take the title.  Back in late November, Bellevue battled Clark in their season opener and lost in overtime 73-72. Following the game Coach Eggers was quoted as saying that  “Clark is loaded with talent; they’ll be one of the top teams.” Eggers’ early forecast proved to be an accurate one, as the two teams were near the top of the rankings the entire year, as Bellevue held onto the top spot for the majority of the season.

Bellevue defeated local rival Highline College to take fifth place overall. The resilient Bulldogs came back and put together two wins after the tough loss to Clark to earn a placing. In Eggers’ twelve years at Bellevue, the squad has placed nearly every year at the tourney, which has labeled his men’s basketball program as one of the most consistent and powerful programs in the NWAC.  Dom Holub was named to the All-Tournament Second Team. Here are links to Bellevue’s four games at the tourney.
