Bellevue College softball won three of four over the weekend at the NWAC Crossover Tourney at Yakima, WA. The three wins put Bellevue at 20-10 on the year.

On Saturday, April 18, Bellevue defeated Blue Mountain (OR) by a score of 8-0. Brooke Bonsen threw a complete game shutout while allowing only three hits in the game. Taylor Turner went 3-for-4 and got things going for the Bulldogs in the big inning when Bellevue put up five runs in the fifth to end the game due to the run-limit rule. Turner singled then stole both second and third base. After scoring on an error, Bellevue’s bats got hot as consecutive singles by Erin Scott, Cassidy Mast, Ali Roselli, Erika Torr, and Katie Jackson aided the five-run inning efforts.  In game two, Bellevue defeated North Idaho 8-0. North Idaho, who are on provisional status as they transition from the Scenic West (national junior college) to the NWAC, are 28-4 on the year. No details were reported.

On Sunday, April 19, Bellevue defeated Treasure Valley 12-2. Mast led BC’s offense going 3-for-4 with four RBI’s. After leading a relatively close game 3-2 through four innings, Bellevue put up three runs in the next three frames to put the game away. Tessani Dixon and Bonsen combined in the circle for the win. In game two, Bellevue lost their only game over the weekend to Columbia Basin, 7-3. Down early 5-1, Bellevue could not get anything going offensively. Nikki Tiffany and Dixon each had two hits.

Bellevue’s next games are key ones; a doubleheader at current North Region first place team, Douglas College. The games are scheduled for Friday, April 24 at 1:00 p.m. in Surrey, B.C.
