Bulldogs Add Ten to 2015 Roster

The Bellevue Bulldog volleyball team had a strong recruiting off-season and are excited to announce ten new members to the Bulldog roster. Here is the list and coach comments by Head Coach Jocelyn Lawrence:

Setter Isabella Zubrod from Emerald Ridge HS comes to us off of a second place finish at state averaging 9.6 assists per set and accumulating 1001 assists on the year along with 102 kills.
Coach Lawrence comment: “I am extremely excited to add Izzy to the 2015 roster! She is a very talented setter that is going to transition well into college and be a great leader for this team.”

Middle blocker Audrey Saelens also comes from Emerald Ridge HS with a .306 hitting percentage and 166 kills on the season.
Coach Lawrence comment: “Audrey brings a high level of competition to our team in her abilities and smarts on the court. I am excited to add Audrey to our team for the 2015 season”.

Setter Abbi Bailey joins the Bulldog roster from Rogers HS who finished 7-5 in league play in the 2014 season.
Coach Lawrence comment: “Abbi has great leadership skills on the court and connects well with her teammates! I am excited for Abbi to help lead this team to the next level in the 2015 season,”

Defensive Specialist/Libero, Kathleen Bui, comes to Bellevue from Skyline HS, who made it to the 4A state tournament this past year. Kathleen was the starting libero for Skyline.
Coach Lawrence comment: “We are extremely excited to add Kathleen to the roster. She brings a high level of skill to the court with her defense and am looking forward to having her help lead this team next year.”

Defensive specialist/Libero, Maddy Cole, comes to Bellevue from Tahoma HS, who finished sixth place at the state tournament this past year.
Coach Lawrence comment: “Maddy brings such great control to the court and we are excited to add her to the roster! She has a high level of court awareness that is going to help teak our team to the next level.”

Outside hitter, Shea O’Brien, from Liberty HS, comes to BC off of a state appearance where Liberty took 8th in the class 2A state tourney and was awarded KingCo 2A/3A All-League MVP.
Coach Lawrence comment: “We are not only excited about the high level of talent Shea is going to bring to the court but also her championship mindset that is going to help lead this team through a competitive schedule this next season.”

Outside hitter Lexi LeClech joins the roster from Annie Wright HS in Tacoma, WA and was awarded first team All-League for the Emerald City League.
Coach Lawrence comment: “We are very excited to add Lexi to our roster for the 2015 season. She is a versatile player with a high level of play in each position which is going to help challenge our team and bring us to the next level.”

Middle blocker Briar Perez, from North Kitsap HS, comes to the Bulldogs off of a successful senior season finishing second at state and being named Kitsap Sun Player of the Year. Briar was awarded All-Olympic league first team and is now her schools career blocks leader with 306 and broke the schools single season blocks record with 86.
Coach Lawrence comment: “We are excited to be adding the talent and competitiveness of Briar to our roster for 2015. She is a great leader on the court with such a positive attitude that will help take this team far this coming season.”

Outside hitter Hallie Williams joins the Bulldogs from Shorecrest HS and currently plays on the Seattle Juniors club team.
Coach Lawrence comment: “We are super excited about the talent that Hallie is adding to our roster. She will be a big presence in the front row for us. She brings a strong arm and smart block that will help us take this team to the next level.”

Middle hitter Katarina Stark joins the Bulldogs after playing at Joel E. Ferris HS in Spokane and taking a year off to travel to Germany. Katarina is ready to get back to volleyball and has shown that time off has not affected her.
Coach Lawrence comment: “We are excited for the maturity that Katarina will bring to the court for the Bulldogs. She is extremely coachable and is eager to learn to improve her skills. Kat is a great addition to the 2015 roster.”
