Bellevue Women’s Soccer Defeat Tacoma 5-1

The Bellevue College women’s soccer team responded to their midweek narrow defeat to Highline with a resounding 5-1 victory over Tacoma Community College on Saturday September 19. The Bulldogs took an early lead through Ali Morris, who scored from a 20 yard free-kick after just two minutes. Tacoma leveled quickly just two minutes later, but it wasn’t long before BC took control.

Suri Johnson headed home from a Taylor Weins corner kick to put BC into a 2-1 lead on 17 minutes, and then Weins scored a spectacular goal prior to half time. Weins picked up the ball from a Lisa Yoshida pass in the center of the field, then drove forward and struck powerfully from 25 yards out to put BC into a 3-1 half time lead.

The Bulldogs continued their form into the second half and dominated play. Melody Blake scored on 49 minutes from another Weins assist. This was Blake’s first game back after 10 days out with a concussion, and she returned in style to score her 1st goal of the season.

Anna Roslander rounded off the victory with the fifth goal on 90 minutes, courtesy of a Jaimee Farrell assist. This was Roslander’s 5th goal of the season, as she continues her fine scoring form.

The BC Women’s team head to Grays Harbor on Wednesday September 23 for their next game.
