BC Softball Sweeps Chemeketa in Home Opener

Bellevue College softball won two games in their home opener on Saturday March 26 winning 9-3 and 10-2.

In game one, Bellevue’s Tessani Dixon and Alex Boyd continued their power hitting by clubbing home runs to lead BC’s offense. Dixon popped out her eighth home of the year and had 3 RBI’s while Boyd hit her fifth of the year. Rayne Sylvester, who played for Chemeketa last year, had a big game against her former team by going 2-for-3 with 2 RBI’s and also had a home run as well. Ciera Lockwood went all 7 innings in the circle for the win, scattering only 5 hits in the game.

In the second game, Boyd and Sylvester continued their hot hitting as they each hit home runs again in the nightcap. Boyd went 3-for-4 with 4 RBI’s to lead Bellevue. Sylvester had a three-run shot for 3 RBI’s. Freshman Payton Gibbs was a threat on both sides as she threw a complete game victory giving up only six hits in the game and also contributed offensively herself going 2-for-3. She also popped out her first home run of the year. Brianna Attwood also homered for Bellevue.

The Bulldogs are now 12-3 on the year and face Olympic College on Tuesday March 29 for a 1:00 p.m. doubleheader at Lyons Field in Bremerton. The squad returns home for a twin bill on Thursday March 31 for a 12:00 p.m. doubleheader against Lower Columbia College.
