After being pummeled by a score of 16-3 on Friday April 22 in the series opener against Everett, Bellevue bounced back and nearly won both games Saturday April 23, but ended up splitting losing 6-5 before winning 6-2.

On Friday, Bellevue’s Lawyer Braun homered to open things up in the first inning to put Bellevue up 1-0. The ‘dogs tacked on another in the second, but then were victims of the big innings. Everett put up three big innings scoring 4, 5, and 7 runs for the easy win. Tino Peleti had three hits for Bellevue.

On Saturday Bellevue had a 5-3 lead in the sixth before Everett rallied for three runs in the bottom of the inning off Bellevue pitcher miscues. 2 walks, 2 hit batters, and a crucial wild pitch that scored the game-winner, all in the sixth allowed Everett to go back ahead. Joe Wainhouse homered while Austin Pinorini had three hits to lead Bellevue. In the nightcap, Dominic DeMiero took matters into his own hands for Bellevue, throwing a compete game while striking out 13. Down the stretch, Everett never had more than one runner on base in innings 6-9. The game control by DeMiero allowed Bellevue breathing room until the end. Pinorini had another two hits in the nightcap and shortstop Jordan LaFave had three hits.

After being rained out on Sunday, Bellevue and Everett will play the final game of the series today at 4:00 p.m. at Courter Field. Bellevue is looking to even up the series while Everett looks to win it, as they are currently leading the series 2-1.
