Although Bellevue College’s men’s golf team finished second yesterday in the SW Oregon Invite, the squad actually finished first among NWAC two-year schools as the Bulldogs finished 4 strokes behind University of Fraser Valley, a four-year university squad out of Canada. The squad’s 610 total bested the next NWAC team, Spokane, by 9 strokes. The tourney, although an invitational, is considered one of the most prestigious tourneys for NWAC schools as it was held at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort in Bandon, OR.

Bellevue’s Eddie Abellar finished second overall in the individual portion shooting 75-70. Fellow freshman Dexter Simonds shot 73-76 to finish sixth. Brady Campbell shot 76-79, and Isaac Hall shot 82-81 to round out Bellevue’s team scoring.

Bellevue’s next tourney is their final one, the NWAC Championships which will be held at Walla Walla Country Club and Veteran’s Memorial GC in Walla Walla this Sunday and Monday May 15-16.
