Bellevue College’s men’s basketball team, who finished third in the North Region, drew Umpqua (Ore.), the South Region No. 2 team, in the opening round of the NWAC Championships which begin this Thursday March 9 at Everett Community College. The matchup is slated for 12:00 p.m. with the winner advancing to play either West Region No. 1 seed South Puget Sound or East Region No. 4 seed Big Bend. The matchup was announced during the NWAC selection show that was broadcast yesterday afternoon.
Bellevue and Umpqua have previously met this year in preseason play, as Bellevue won 75-69 on December 4.
