In game one, a pitcher showdown between Bellevue’s Payton Gibbs and Douglas’ Keeley Ainge yielded a 2-1 Douglas lead late in the game before Douglas put up five runs off Gibbs in the sixth inning. Gibbs, who fanned 11 in the complete game effort, took the loss. In game two, Bellevue again lost momentum as a 0-0 tie after two innings all of a sudden turned into an 11-0 loss as Douglas put up six, two, and three runs in three straight innings to end the game early due to the run-limit rule.

Bellevue is now 10-4 overall and hopes to bounce back with a doubleheader this Thursday March 23 at 1:00 p.m. vs. Olympic College.
