Women’s Tennis Wins East of the Mountains

Bellevue College women’s tennis came back from a trip over the Cascade Mountains with two wins, defeating both Spokane and Treasure Valley 9-0. On Friday April 21, BC topped Spokane as Candice Canley turned in her best performance of the year winning 6-0, 6-0 in #3 singles.  Sharon Thomsen won #6 singles blanking her opponent in similar fashion, winning all games in her two set victory. On Sunday April 23, BC traveled to Ontario, OR to face Treasure Valley as #1 singles Moriah Austin returned as she has battled a shoulder injury all year and won 6-4, 5-7, 6-2. Ha Nguyen had the easiest time in her sets, winning #4 singles 6-1, 6-1.

Bellevue’s final league match is this Sunday April 30 at 9:00 a.m. vs. Skagit Valley. Matches will be held at Bellevue’s home court, Robinswood Tennis Center.
