Bellevue College softball closed out regular season play with a sweep over visiting Pierce College on Saturday May 13. A last minute venue change to Bellevue High School was made to finish the regular season on artificial turf under suspect weather conditions.  Bellevue also honored their sophomores who played their final home game as Bellevue College Bulldogs.  In game one, Payton Gibbs tossed a two-hitter in the circle for a complete game win. Emma Jimenez clubbed a two-run home run while Bri Attwood went 3-for-4 with two doubles. The Bulldogs blew it open in the third inning as Justi Johnson smashed two-run home run which Jimenez followed up with her shot.

In game two, Pierce made things more interesting after spotting BC a 5-0 lead in the first inning by putting up two runs in the fourth inning followed by another three runs in the fifth inning to tie the game. After a scoreless sixth, BC had to put one across in the bottom of the seventh inning as starting pitcher Kimber Tutt blasted a one-out walk off home run to win it for Bellevue. Bellevue finishes league play at 21-11 and ended up in third place in the region, and 31-13 overall. The ‘dogs moved up to sixth in the NWAC RPI ranking which slots them in the 10:00 a.m. game on Friday May 19 against #11 seed North Idaho College. Follow NWAC Championship updates here.
