Bellevue Places Five On First Team All-North Region Team; Keegan Acker Named Gold Glove 3B
Bellevue College’s baseball team had five players named to the First Team All-North Region team and three to the Second Team as selected by the coaches of the North Region. The parity of the league was evident, as Everett and Skagit Valley had four players named to the first team, Edmonds placing three, and Olympic and Shoreline placing one apiece. Skagit Valley's Braden Tullis, who entered last week's game against Bellevue with an 8-0 record and 0.32 ERA, was named the MVP while Skagit Valley's Kevin Matthews was named Coach of the Year for leading Skagit to the league title with only one returning starter in the field. Also new this year was a Gold Glove Team. Members of the North Region Gold Glove Team will be nominated for the Pacific Association Division (all community colleges in California, Oregon, and Washington) Gold Glove Team; a national honor recognized by the American Baseball Coaches Association.
