BULLDOGS BOUNCE TRITONS
February 5, 2008

Josh Monagle
Sophomore forward Josh Monagle recorded a double-double, with 18 points and 12 rebounds in Bellevue's 78-67 victory over Edmonds on February 2.

The BCC men’s basketball team battled Edmonds CC to the finish on February 2, holding off the Tritons on their way to a 78-67 and a three game cushion for fourth place in the Northern Region.

The first half saw Bellevue lead by as many as 13 sparked by a barrage of 3 point baskets from sophomore Steve Wiseley and freshmen Curron Singleton and Sam Cartmell before Edmonds climbed back to close the half down 7. Bellevue led the entire second half but found themselves in a dogfight. Unable to pull away most of the half, Edmonds cut the lead down to point late in the game, until Bellevue’s sophomore leaders stepped up.  Wiseley came up big again knocking down a pair of three pointers and sophomore Josh Monagle was unfazed by constant double teams giving the Bulldogs key baskets inside to keep the Tritons at bay. With the victory Bellevue moves to 15-7 on the season and 7-3 in league play to pull ½ game behind 3rd place Peninsula and 1 game behind 2nd place Everett.

Leading the way for the Bulldogs was Monagle who posted a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Wiseley was not far behind going 4/6 from 3-point land on his way to 17 points while dishing out a game high 5 assists. Also is double figures for Bellevue was Singleton who was a perfect 4/4 in the first half on his way to 15 points.
