BULLDOGS WIN IN THREE OVER GRAYS HARBOR; THEN TAKE WALLA WALLA CROSSOVER
Bellevue then traveled to Walla Walla during the weekend of September 20-21 for the Walla Walla Crossover. The Bulldogs were paired with Columbia Basin, Lower Columbia and Mt. Hood for opening round pool play.
In game one, the Bulldogs faced
In game two the Bulldogs defeated Lower Columbia in two 25-16 and 25-17. The Bulldog offense was led by Cooley with six kills followed by Muzzall and outside hitter Allison Chin each with five. Smullin had 22 assists for the Bulldogs in the match. The defense was led by Pulaski with 13 digs followed by Cooley with five.
In game three of pool play the Bulldogs defeated Mt. Hood in two 25-11 and 25-16.
The Bulldogs came out of pool play 3-0 taking the first seed and were put up against the fourth seed of the other bracket, Umpqua. In bracket play the matches were 3 games out of 5. The Bulldogs defeated Umpqua in three 25-14, 25-21, and 25-14. The Bulldogs offense was led by Cooley with nine kills followed by middle blocker Darian Foley with eight and Chin with seven. Smullin and Forrest each had three aces for the Bulldogs followed by Kush with two. The defense was led by Pulaski and Cooley each with 11 digs in the match.
In the semi-finals the Bulldogs faced the Shoreline Dolphins winning in four 25-17, 19-25, 25-16 and 25-12. Cooley had 16 kills for the Bulldogs in the match followed by Kush with nine and Chin with six. Pulaski helped the Bulldog offense with four aces followed by Kush with two. The Bulldogs had eight blocks in the match with Kush, Foley and right side Kayley Watkins each with two. Pulaski led the Bulldog defense with 21 digs followed by Cooley with 14, setter Stephanie Antioquia with 13 and Smullin and Forrest each with nine.
