Background: Two-way player after starting year as a pitcher only…hit .308 last spring after conversion…was 6-3 as a starter on mound last spring with 47 strikeouts in 47 innings pitched…named to the NWAACC Sophomore Showcase team this past fall…played summer ball for Bellingham Bells in West Coast Collegiate League…was 3-2 with 43 strikeouts…had one of the top outings in the entire league in 4 inning stint against Medford allowing one hit and striking out 10 batters…Played for Newport High School under Coach Hal DeBerry… two- year letter-winner…posted a 1.12 ERA in 25 innings pitched with 44 strike outs and a .167 opponent batting average as a junior and a 2.26 ERA in 40.1 innings pitched with 45 strike outs and a .221 opponent batting average as a senior… helped Newport make the final eight in the state tournament during his junior year… played summer baseball for Lakeside Recovery Senior Legion under Coach Rob Reese…team won the state championship, Northwest Regional Championship and took 3rd place in the American Legion World Series during senior summer.

Personal: Born October 14, 1993…son of Robert and Liana Sandefur and brother to Jesse and Rebecca…Interested in studying business…Chose Bellevue because of its prestigious reputation as a top baseball program, and for the opportunity to work with Coach Yoshino to develop as a pitcher…turned down opportunity to play baseball in the Ivy League out of high school to attend Bellevue for two years…one of team’s top students academically.
