He is currently a tennis professional at Robinswood Tennis Center, a position he has held since 1999. Robinswood is the home of one of the biggest junior tennis programs in the state. Chapman’s 2001 men’s 5.0 U.S.T.A. team took fifth in the nation. Prior to being a professional at Robinswood, Chapman taught at North Park Racquet Club in Spokane in 1994 and at the Bellevue Club in 1998. Chapman is a ’91 grad from Shadle Park HS in Spokane, and graduated from Eastern Washington University in 1996. He was on scholarship for the Eagles and played four years of varsity tennis. During his junior campaign, Chapman earned All-Big Sky Conference honors.
Following his playing days, he served as an assistant coach at Eastern. Chapman and his wife Lisa were recently married and had their first child in March 2014. In his spare time, Chapman enjoys basketball, Mariners games, mountain biking and of course, tennis tournaments.
