Dialogue 1
A: Hello, can I help you?
B: Yes, I need to renew my driver's license.
A: You need to go back to the door and take a number. Then, wait until your
number is called.
B: Thank you very much.
Dialogue 2
A: Excuse me sir I want to get my driver's license what should I do?
B: Have you ever taken a written test?
A: No, I haven't.
B: (Giving him a booklet to study) When you are ready for the test come back
and take the test.
A: Thank you very much!
B: You're welcome.

- The first time that I went to the DMV, I was nervous because I went to do my driver's license test. My friend told me no problem you studied the book. Yes, I studied. I took the test and passed. I had only one wrong. I was happy.
- When I finished the written test at the DMV, I was very excited. I hope I would get my driver's license very soon. I didn't believe the result after I failed the driver's test. That event made me upset all day. I couldn't accept the fact because I have my driver's license and twenty years of experience in my country. Three weeks later, I passed my second driving test.
- The first time I went to the DMV I was nervous when I went to the to take my driver's license test. When I finished the written test and went for my driving test I was scared. When I finished and the employee said I passed, I was happy.
- When I went to the Department of Licensing, I told the officer I wanted to take the test. He gave me the booklet, told me to go home to study, and when I'm ready to make an appointment or come back in and take either the computer or written test. I wanted to take the computer test. O.K. See you later. Thank you.
- The first time I went to take my written test the woman asked if she could help me. I said yes I want to take the written test. She gave me a number and told me to wait until it was called. They called my number and I told him I want to take my written test in Cambodian. He told me they don't have the test in Cambodian, I had to take it in English. I told him, I don't read English very well. He said sorry. I had no other choice. So, I took the test, but didn't understand a lot and I didn't pass.
- The first time I went to the Department of Licensing I asked my friend for directions. He told me it's in the Lake Hills Shopping Center. I had to take a number and wait until they called me. He asked if I had ever taken the written test? I said no. He gave me the paper test and a time limit to turn the test back in to him. He told me that I needed to make an appointment if I wanted to take the driver's test.
- When I came to the U.S. I wanted to take a driver's license test. So, after one month I went to the DMV to take the test. Many people were waiting for their turn. I was a little nervous to wait. When it was my turn, I could have a chance to take the test. Even though I took the test with an American a teacher, I was confused and I couldn't help it. However, I had another chance to take the test again.
