Dialogue

A: What seems to be the trouble?
B: My tooth is sensitive when I drink something hot or cold. I think I have a cavity. I need you to check my tooth.
A: O.K. Please have a seat, lay back, and open your mouth. I'll take an x-ray of your tooth. Please don't move.
A: O.K. thank you.
B: Let's see. Your tooth does have a cavity. I'll need to clean it first. After that, I'll fill your cavity. Then, in one week you will need to come back in and have it checked.
(After cavity is filled)
A: Thank you. See you next week.

Student perspectives

  • When I went to the Dental Office three years ago I wanted to get a checkup. It had been a long time since I last visited the dentist. The first time, they took three x-rays and the dentist told me that there are no problems with my teeth, but they have some plaque. The dentist told me I had to clean my teeth better and come a check-up in six months.
  • I went to a dental clinic. That was a big medical specialist. First, the dentist took many kinds of x-rays. Next, he treated my teeth. Then, I had a spasm. After that, the dentist finished his work. He told me, everything is fine. I had a bad memory until now.
