Career exploration courses and workshops

Our selection of career courses allow you to spend time exploring your goals and values to make the right decision and focus on creating a career action plan that you can implement while at BCC! We also have short-term workshops that can begin you on the path to exploring or planning a career.

Individual career consultation

Meet with our highly qualified staff to discuss your career and educational goals. The career consultants are trained professionals with years of experience helping students, alumni and community members to find their academic and career path. A consultant will guide you through the decision-making process, recommend career-focused courses and workshops, authorize career assessments, or refer you to additional resources. Career Assessments

Take one or more of the following career assessments to help you determine career options that fit your personality and interests:

    Discover is a web-based career exploration program that helps you relate occupations to your interests, skills and values. It offers solid information on career fields, as well as colleges and their educational programs. This program is FREE but requires a "token" to get started. Call (425) 564-2279 TTY 425-564-4087 to request a "token."

    Choices Planner is a web-based career exploration program that helps you assess your work values, interests, and transferable skills. The occupations database lets you compare yourself to nearly 1,000 occupations. This web site also provides a section for making your career and educational plans by creating an online portfolio. This program is FREE and requires the following information to get started
    (Site ID: 27357; Password: passion).

    The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and the Strong Interest Inventory (SII) are administered online with permission from a Counselor, Career Consultant, or Career Class Instructor. The cost is $25 for each assessment ($50 total). The assessments are generally taken together. To schedule an appointment, please call (425) 564-2279.
