Class Supplies: Illustration Communication with Sandy Haight
Bring this list to the art store; they can be very helpful and often there may be a 10% discount at some stores if you are a BC student as well. All items are available at Daniel Smith Art supply stores and online. Show this supply list with this number, # TRP00623 for the student discount. Also, all basic materials should be available at the BC North campus bookstore at 425-564-5711.
- Sketch book or pad. If you have one that you like to use, bring it and continue in your book. I recommend for sketching concepts, thumbnails and refined sketch: Canson Vidalon Vellum pad, 55lb (heavy weight). 9” x 12” is a good size to fit on scanners, but if you draw bigger, get the 11” x 14.” This paper is sturdy and can take a lot of erasing and re-drawing. It erases very cleanly.
- Mechanical pencil and extra leads. 2B size seems ideal. HB and softer is ok. They stay sharp.
- Kneaded Eraser
- (optional: notebook for keeping written notes)
- Your own art supplies or digital equipment for whatever techniques you’ll be using to create finished illustration. I may be able to advise and suggest materials to try.
