Fundamentals of IT Project Management, Part 1


IT Project Managers are in high demand across a broad spectrum of industries. In this course, students will study the fundamentals needed to set the stage for success in all of their IT projects. Part 1 topics include the IT project life cycle, critical factors for IT project success, common project processes, and an overview of the first three phases of the IT project: Concept Phase, Requirements Phase and Planning Phase. Recommended Prerequisites: Students must meet the ITPM Certificate Program requirements prior to registering for this course. Required textbook: IT Project Management: On Track from Start to Finish, 3rd ed. Fee: $450 Note: This is a required course for the IT Project Management Certificate Program. To enter the IT Project Management Certificate Program, students must have documented proof of the following: 1) completion of BC’s Project Management Certificate Program OR 2-3 years’ experience in a project management role OR CAPM® credential OR PMP® credential AND 2) a minimum of one year's experience in a technology environment (infrastructure, operations, networking, software).
