Installed with Excel 2013 are powerful new reporting and visualization tools called PowerPivot and Power View. In this class you will create data models in PowerPivot that mimic cube design in SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), allowing you to easily prototype data marts that can later be created in larger scale in SSAS. These models will be used to generate PowerPivot pivot tables to further analyze the data. Students will also learn how to attach directly to existing SSAS cubes in PowerPivot. In addition, you will learn how to create reports and dashboards in Power View. Dashboard techniques include PivotCharts and Slicers. Bring a USB flash drive (minimum 2 GB) to class. Prerequisites: A basic knowledge of Excel (at least Level 2) and data warehouse concepts and design is recommended.
