Our Technical Writing Certificate Program was developed by respected industry professionals and targets in-demand skills. The program is designed for technical writers and editors who want to develop their skills or career changers with strong writing talent who want to broaden their skills. Instructors are working professionals who introduce real-world scenarios into the classroom. Course projects are hands-on, interactive, and directly transferable to the workplace.

To earn a Technical Writing Certificate, students must complete 110 hours of coursework. Required courses cover topics such as fundamentals of writing, editing, and document design and comprise 87 course hours. Electives in topics such as authoring help, blogging, or marketing communication comprise the remaining 23 course hours. The program culminates in a Capstone Project, in which participants demonstrate their mastery of program objectives and produce the final piece in the professional portfolio the program has helped them to create.
Our small classes let our instructors give students personal attention. Classes are taught during evenings and weekends to accommodate the schedules of working professionals. Our flexible program lets you start any quarter you like and finish at your own pace as long as you complete the program in 13 quarters. You can take as few as one or two classes a week. And if you only need to take a key course or aren’t ready to complete an entire program, courses may be taken individually.
