Data-organizing and report-generating skills are in high and growing demand by local businesses. If you’re interested in helping to meet this demand, Bellevue College Continuing Education can provide the training you need through its Database Business Intelligence (DBBI) Developer Certificate Program.
See an overview table of required courses in the program for more details. Courses in the program may be taken individually or as part of the full certificate program.
The program was designed for those who need to design, create, and integrate reports in their current position or who want to learn new skills for a future position. Industry professionals guided the development of the program to target the skills that employers value most. Instructors are database experts currently working in the field. Courses are engaging, interactive, and emphasize lab work and hands-on learning.
The DBBI Developer Certificate Program prepares students to: • Extract, combine, and clean up data to prepare it for analysis • Design and create data repositories such as data warehouses and OLAP cubes • Use analysis tools to examine repository data • Design and create data queries • Generate reports showing trends and patterns • Design and implement strategies to verify these trends and patterns • Help decision-makers make more informed business decisions.
In addition to database design, the program’s courses cover structured query language (SQL), T-SQL programming, and SQL Server Analysis, Integration, and Reporting Services. To earn the certificate, students must complete 204 course hours, then design and complete a Capstone Project in the final Capstone course. The Capstone Project is the finishing touch in the student’s professional portfolio and showcases to potential employers all of the skills learned in the previous courses in the program.
The program’s small classes let instructors give students personal attention. Classes are taught during evenings and weekends to accommodate the schedules of working professionals.
Our flexible program lets you start any quarter you like and finish at your own pace. You can take as few as one or two classes a week. Although the program can be completed in a year and a half, you may take as long as three years to earn your certificate.
