Bellevue College’s Business Training Institute (BTI) is a premier provider of training that helps corporations as well as nonprofit organizations increase productivity, attract new constituents or customers, and become more competitive. The Institute’s clients include Boeing, the City of Bellevue, Costco, Microsoft, PACCAR, T-Mobile, and Univar. Its goal is to provide the best overall value in training and development for its clients.
BTI is committed to helping its clients meet their immediate and strategic goals by providing leaders and teams the 21st-century leadership, professional, and technical skills needed to maximize results. According to Director of Corporate Relations Jim Bryan, “When an employee’s passions and skills are in alignment with their employer’s strategic goals, they enjoy what they do on a day-to-day basis and stay more engaged in their job. The organization wins because engaged employees are more productive.”
“With the depth and breadth of resources at Bellevue College, we can provide a wide range of training solutions on topics such as accountability, coaching, diversity and inclusion, leadership, and employee development. We also provide training in effective presentation skills, communication, facilitation, and team building as well as many other professional courses tailored to each organization’s unique environment,” Jim explains. “We would like local businesses and organizations to think of Bellevue College BTI as their one-stop resource for all of their training needs,” notes Jim, who developed his focus on high-quality service delivery as West Coast director of client services at Global Novations.
In keeping with BTI’s goal of being a one-stop resource, the institute also provides training in a wide range of technical skills. One area of exceptional expertise is information technology. In addition to training in MS-Office applications, database development, and web design and development, BTI provides training in business intelligence, application development, and software testing, quality assurance, and project management. Training in a wide variety of languages is also available to help build productive bilingual supervisory abilities and global business relationships.
“We assess, deliver, and evaluate each training engagement we have with our clients,” Jim explains. BTI begins by discussing and assessing the skills gaps the client is trying to address. Once the client’s training needs have been assessed, BTI then determines the best training content, delivery modality, and instructors for that client’s needs. BTI’s training is provided by experienced industry professionals with a solid record of successful instruction. “It’s about partnering with our clients,” Jim stresses. “We’re not providing training for training’s sake. The training needs to serve a purpose and may be wrapped in with consulting services for organizational effectiveness.”
BTI includes evaluation processes to assess the effectiveness of training and delivery. “BTI partners with the client to determine what the critical learning objectives and outcomes are for each training engagement. BTI would be unsustainable without this measurement step,” Jim explains. For more information on partnering with BTI, contact Director of Corporate Relations Jim Bryan at 425-564-2959.
