How Enrollment Works
The Early Learning, Family, and Childcare Center is a college-based
center. Because 50% of our child care slots are reserved for
student parents, staff, and faculty, the center follows the
college calendar. Enrollment is done quarterly.
As a result of our collaboration with Costco
Wholesale, 50% of the child care slots are reserved for
employees of Costco. Costco employees may enroll at anytime
during the year when space is available. The wait list for Costco
employees is an ongoing listonce a family has requested
care, they remain on the wait list until there is space or until
we are notified they no longer want care.
Community families are welcome when space is available. Requests
for care may be made and will be placed on the wait list. Requests
for care must be renewed each quarter during the following months:
October, January, April, and July. Because there is high demand,
community families might also try Child
Care Resources.
For Quarterly Contract
Quarterly contracts are for BCC student parents, staff
and faculty whose schedule changes each quarter and who do not
use childcare during quarter breaks. BCC parents on a quarterly
contract must register their child at the Center every quarter.
There is a non-refundable registration fee of $25.00 per family
per quarter. See our Hours & Fees
section for details on program costs. First priority is given
to families with children already enrolled in a program. These
families will register during a specified, priority registration
period. After this time period is over, registration is opened
to new families on a first come, first served basis.
When a program is full, a waiting list is maintained to fill
any openings that may become available during the quarter. Parents
must call each quarter to keep their name on the waiting list.
If you're interested in placing your name on the waiting list,
please contact us at 425/ 564-2240 or send an e-mail to lmiller@bcc.ctc.edu
For Ongoing Contract
Ongoing contracts are available for BCC student parents who
work and go to school, BCC staff and faculty who work a continuous
10 or 12 month work schedule, for Costco employee parents, and
any community families served. This contract continues until
such time as your schedule changes or your child moves to a
new age group. Two weeks written notice is required to withdraw
your child or to change your schedule (providing the center
can accommodate the schedule). A yearly registration fee is
charged every July. The fee is prorated for each quarter after
that time.
How to Secure Space for Your Child
When space becomes available for a family on the wait list,
the Center will hold the space for the agreed upon start date,
only if all necessary completed registration forms are returned
to the office and a non-refundable $100 deposit is made. Should
the child not be able to begin on that date, his name will be
returned to the waiting list until the next available opening
(an additional deposit fee will be accessed). The required registration
materials are:
- Registration enrollment packet
- Copy of parent's class schedule (if a student) or confirmation
of Costco employment
- Physician's exam (renewed annually)
- Dental exam (renewed annuallyencouraged)
- An immunization form (current for child's age)
- Financial contract
- PALS registration
- USDA enrollment form
ALL FAMILIES MUST ATTEND AN ORIENTATION PRIOR
TO BEGINNING DATE FOR CHILD CARE.
For more details on fees and costs, please see our Hours
and Fees section.
