Frequently Asked Questions

Can I schedule a tour?

The ELC doesn’t offer tours unless we can offer a family a spot in the program. This allows our daily programs to run uninterrupted. Take a look at our photo gallery to get a feel for our center.

Do your teachers have degrees?

Yes! We require all our teachers to have at least an AA degree with 45 credits of ECE (Early Childhood Education). Many of our teachers have their BA in early childhood education as well.

When is the Center Closed?

The Center will be closed on the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veteran’s day, Thanksgiving and the Friday after, and Christmas through New Years Day.  ELC will also be closed to children three days per year for a professional staff development day. A complete list of our closures with dates can be found on the parent corner page

What is fulltime?

Full-time families can schedule up to 10 hours per day. By state law, children may only be at the Center 10 consecutive hours per day.

Are there part-time slots available?

Half-day slots are available before 12:30, when full-time slots do not fill the center.

What about Head Start?

Limited spaces are available for Head Start, a federally funded program for low-income families. Enrollment (for children aged 3-5) is based on income. Head Start curriculum, schedule, and daily activities are comparable to our regular preschool program, but there are enhanced services and family support components in areas such as health, community services, and leadership opportunities. Find out more on our Head Start page
