CEO 105 Resources and Technology for College and Career • 5 Cr.


Overview and introduction to BC and community websites, resources and support. Students will assess their keyboarding skills. They will cover the basics of power point, outlook, website navigation, online classes and Excel and their application to college and career success. This class will satisfy the recommended prerequisite for BTS 161 or BTS 110.


After completing this class, students should be able to:

  • Apply strategies and techniques to learn and participate effectively in systems, institutions and organizations.
  • Complete assessment to determine speed and accuracy in keyboarding.
  • Produce Power Point presentation of personal goals at the end of the quarter.
  • Produce a simple Excel document demonstrating time management and organizational skills.
  • Apply knowledge and skills to store files using multiple back-up methods, i.e., Word, File Storage, H Drive, Flash Drive.
  • Apply techniques and knowledge to proficiently access and use BC email. (Outlook, email skills and etiquette.)
  • Navigate and access degree audit and understand various uses and functions.
  • Navigate and utilize Distance Education course delivery system, i.e., telecourse, hybrid, and online courses with emphasis on Blackboard Vista.
  • Navigate through BC and other websites including "My BC" and "My Online Services."
  • Identify, locate and use student support and library resources.
