Biography:

Beth Luzzi received her Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Seattle University in 2009 and became a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington state in the summer of 2012. She also holds a BA in History and Secondary Education from Muhlenberg College and has over 13 years of instructional experience, teaching at both the secondary and post secondary levels. After receiving tenure at Bellevue College in 2014, Beth took a brief hiatus to serve as the Interim Director of the Counseling and Resource Center at Edmonds Community College. During this time she also earned her Certified Personal Trainer credential through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and her Precision Nutrition Level 1 certification. Beth currently provides mental health and career counseling to registered students at BC as well as teaches a number of Human Development courses including Learning Strategies for Student Success, Living with Loss and Grief, Motivation and Empowerment, and First Year Experience. Beth’s theoretical approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and is always social justice oriented. She also infuses physical wellness concepts into her counseling practices whenever possible. Beth currently resides in Seattle and when she isn’t at Bellevue College she can usually be found running, weightlifting, or falling off of her paddleboard.
