Course Description

Introduces students to the concepts of Projects, Project Management, Team Membership, and Electronic Project Management. This course is directed at learning and using Electronic Project Management tools with an emphasis on Microsoft Project 2007.

If the CD is not included with your textbook, the data files can be downloaded from the publisher's Web site or from the class site.
  A storage disk is required for students working on campus and recommended for students working off-campus for backup or transportation purposes. A USB drive (preferred) or 750 MB zip disk.

If a situation occurs during the quarter that affects a student’s ability to complete the work, the student must contact the instructor immediately. Any student who finds that he or she cannot manage the workload is encouraged to withdraw.

Lesson Activities

Much of your grade will come from completing the textbook lessons and end of chapter activities. Becoming proficient in MS Project is achieved by using the software for many hours. Homework gives you the opportunity to immerse yourself in the MS Project software and perform the mental exercise necessary to really understand MS Project. The weight of each activity can vary with the complexity of the assignment.

The lesson assignment are located at the Assignments tool and under the icon for that particular tutorial. Turn in your work using the instructions where you pick up the assignment. Normally, you will go to the Assignment tool to download the instructions. When you have completed the assignment, you will go back to the Assignment tool and submit your work as an attachment(s).

There is a significant amount of homework in this class. You can expect to spend at least 15 hours per week to complete the assigned work. Be sure that you can spend the time this quarter. If you are overloaded, this may not be the quarter for you to take MS Project.

You are expected read the text, use Help, Books 24x7 and Web resources, and use the discussion tool to seek assistance from classmates and the instructor.

Late Work: Any work received after the due date is considered late. Late work is discounted at the rate of 2 points per day late, including weekends
