Deborah Pope

Debbie Pope serves as an adjunct instructor of both English and Communication Studies at Bellevue College.  Pope earned her B.A. in English at Bethany University, Santa Cruz, CA, and her M.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies at Wheaton College, Wheaton, IL.  At BC, she teaches Public Speaking, Introduction to Communication, English 101, The Research Paper, and Expository Writing.  Pope is a full-time faculty member at Seattle Pacific University in the Communication Department and teaches Interpersonal Communication, Public Speaking, Theories of Communication, Oral Interpretation, and Gender Issues in Communication.  A transplanted Tennessean who loves Flannery O’Connor, geraniums, and cats, Pope drinks Starubucks coffee — without the mint julep.  She’s also a lifelong, die-hard Jackson Browne fan. And she lives to Jazzercise — sometimes seven classes weekly!
