    Annual Student Leadership Conference with the Council of Unions and Student Programs in Wenatchee, WA, from September 3 - 5.

    4:30 pm

    Learn how to prepare for admission into a nursing program at community colleges (such as Bellevue College or Shoreline) as well as universities (such as UW or SU).  Planning, pre-requisites, obtaining experience, and tips will be discussed.  This workshop is not a substitute for the Bellevue College Nursing Program Information Sessions.

Explore the many healthcare associate degree and certificate options at Bellevue College, such as Nursing, Imaging Sciences, Neurodiagnostic Technologist, and the Allied Health Professions. Staff and faculty also welcome!

    When and Where: From 3:30 to 4:45- Building D, Room D240H (follow the signs). Individual Questions answered until 5:00 pm

    Parking is free after 3:00pm in all student parking lots!

    - Similarities and differences between the Healthcare Programs

    - Success strategies and resources for the Healthcare Programs

    - How to get started

    September 6 & 7 (setup is on September 5): AKI MATSURI: A celebration of Japan’s rich cultural heritage with 60+ exhibits and many food booths presented by the Eastside Nihon Matsuri Association. If you’d like to volunteer at this year’s Aki Matsuri, contact the Volunteer Recruiting Coordinator at anne.stewart@bellevuecollege.edu. Last year we had 300+ volunteers and we’re now recruiting volunteers for this year. Hope you can join us for this festive occasion.

    A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of Community College District VIII.

    Join us for a cultural event sponsored by the City of Bellevue! We will view the Canadian film, "One Bit Hapa Family," by Canadian director Jeff Chiba Stearns. This film explores aspects that influence most Japanese-Canadians to marry inter-racially and how the mixed Japanese generation perceives its multiracial identity.

    The filmmaker will be on hand for a Q&A discussion after the film and DVDs of the film will be available for purchase.

    Join us for breakfast and lunch, fun games and presentations at the MCS Fall Orientation

    MCS is specially developed for Students of Color, First Generation College Students, Returning Adult Learners, and students from diverse cultural backgrounds planning to attend Bellevue College fall quarter 2014.

    Orientation session includes:

    • Introduction to MCS staff and services offered through Multicultural Services
    • Special tips and techniques to get you the help you need to succeed in the classroom and on campus
    • Motivation and inspiration for a successful college experience.

     

    2:00 pm

    The Fall Open House takes place today from 10 am - 2 pm in the Raging River Courtyard.

    Students will learn about campus programs, opportunities and ways to get involved on campus.
    Representatives from student government and from clubs will be on hand to share their knowledge, and there will be workshops and a campus tour. Family and friends have been invited!
