The Faculty Commons is excited to announce that Steven Ferreira, Olympian, founder of the non-profit Beyond Disabilities (http://beyond-disabilities.org), and Bellevue College graduate, will be giving a presentation today in the Faculty Commons.
A 2011 study from the University of Indiana showed 22 percent of college students reported being cyberbullied while 15 percent reported traditional bullying. The same study showed 42 percent of students reported seeing someone bullied by another student.
Steve’s “Eradicating Bullying” presentation talks about the different types of bullying and why people bully others. He also focuses on strategies for eradicating bullying. Students, Faculty and Staff are all encouraged to attend.
There is an on-campus meeting of Alcoholic Anonymous (AA) on Tuesdays from 5:15 - 6:15 in S-301. The meeting gathers every week, including during school breaks, and is open to all BC students, staff and community member who want help with their drinking problem. Further questions regarding this event can be directed to the BC Counseling Center.
