    Many universities will require a personal statement as part of the transfer application process.  Does the thought of writing a personal statement sound intimidating to you?  Have you looked at the statement prompt for your chosen transfer school and aren’t sure where to begin?  This workshop will provide you with some general information on what it means to write a personal statement, encouragement to start writing, and tips for how to brainstorm and structure your writing.

    Drop-In Information Session for UW Bothell

    A representative from UW Bothell will be here on campus to discuss admissions requirements, programs, housing, and other transfer information for international students interested in attending UW Bothell.

    This session will highlight the requirements for Associate in Arts & Sciences Direct Transfer degree (AAS-DTA), in addition to common state university prerequisites for students interested in both communication studies and journalism programs.  We will also introduce to you series of courses available here at BC and a potential sequence that makes sense in most transfer scenarios. A third goal of this session is to discuss potential career options related to a Communication Studies major, and how students may benefit from the unique strength and academic focus of specific academic programs to realize their career potential.

    Invitation to all interested students looking to transfer into Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Hospitality Business Management, or Integrated Communication. Admission representatives will be available to answer questions about applying and advisors will be available to discuss all of your transfer equivalency questions. Come learn more about your options to transfer to Washington State University. LUNCH PROVIDED!

    Are you looking to transfer to a university in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) field?  Come learn more about the great STEM programs at CWU and EWU.  Andy Piacsek, Director of the Science Talent Expansion Program (STEP) and Chair of the Geology Department at CWU, will talk about how CWU’s STEP program connects transfer students to funded undergraduate research opportunities from the moment that they walk on to campus.  Gar Springberry, the Academic Advisor for EWU’s STEM programs, will talk about offerings at EWU, especially its strong engineering programs.

     

    4:30 pm

    Learn how to prepare for admission into a nursing program at community colleges (such as Bellevue College or Shoreline) as well as universities (such as UW or Seattle U).  Planning, prerequisites, obtaining experience, and tips will be discussed.  This workshop is not a substitute for the Bellevue College Nursing Program Information Sessions.
