First Year Experience changes

The First Year Experience (FYE) has had a recent update.  The curriculum and instruction have been modified to better align with the learning outcomes identified within the class description.

Information Sessions

Two information sessions are available to learn of these changes and obtain the application form.  All Bellevue College staff/faculty interested in teaching the First Year Experience (FYE) are welcome.

Session 1

February 21
9am – 10am

Session 2

February 23
5pm – 6pm
Room B201 A&B

Eligibility to Teach

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Bellevue College employee for at least one full academic year and currently providing BC service through teaching or other full or part-time direct student service
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students from diverse educational and economic backgrounds with strong human relations and communication skills required
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with others (faculty, staff, and students)

HD 100 Schedule

Three cohorts are scheduled and in need of instructors.  Please be available for the following dates and times if you’re interested in teaching FYE.

8:00am – 11:30am
Wednesday – Friday

Cohort 2

March 29 – 31
3:30pm – 7:00pm
Wednesday – Friday

Cohort 3
