How to Submit an FYI

Follow these steps next time you would like to communicate with the campus community. We now have two options:

  1. The FYI Digest is sent daily to faculty, staff and administrators.
  2. The Bulldogs FYI  is sent once a week to students.

To submit an FYI:

  • Go to the FYI website
  • Click ‘Send an FYI (login required)
  • Enter your NetID and password (the same as you use to log in to Canvas)
  • Fill out the FYI form (if you’d like it to go to students, check the ‘Students’ category)
  • Click Submit!

You will get a confirmation on your screen, and receive a confirmation via email. If you do not receive the email your FYI did not get submitted and you have to start again.

Tip: If you keep the FYI editor open for too long, there is a chance you will be logged out, and your content will not be submitted. To avoid this, type up your FYI in a text editor and then paste it in the FYI form.

Once you have submitted your FYI, it will get reviewed, posted on the FYI website for you to peruse, and be emailed out.

Please submit an FYI once for each event. Do not submit FYIs on a daily basis leading up to the event.

Frequency of the daily FYI Digest emails will depend on demand but will not exceed once per day. Submissions that come through after the daily FYI digest is sent will go out the following day, so please plan ahead. Submissions for the Bulldogs FYI should be sent by Friday for the following week.
