Opens Wednesday January 8: patrick nagatani: chromatherapy
Nagatani’s Chromatherapy project embraces a topic the artist became interested in after being diagnosed with cancer some years ago. This huge series of color photographs relates to the subject of chromatherapy, or “color healing.” With roots in ancient Egypt and China, chromatherapy involves the belief that shining rays from colored lamps onto afflicted areas of the body can cure disease. With this series of photographs, and incorporating his experiences designing sets for such major motion pictures as “Star Wars,” Nagatani pushes the boundaries of belief.
We will host an Artist Reception on Wednesday, February 13, 2014 near the close of the exhibit. Please mark your calendars to come and meet Patrick Nagatani, and to explore part of this multifaceted artist.
