Biography:

Hyesu Park came to the U.S. from South Korea after earning her undergraduate degree in English. She holds Ph.D. in English from the Ohio State University. Her dissertation, “Narrating Other Minds: Alterity and Empathy in Post-1945 Asian American Literature,” explores Asian American authors’ innovative uses of the stereotypes about “inscrutable” Asian American minds by using the tools offered by rhetorical and cognitive narratology as well as research in the cognitive and neurosciences. Her research interests include American and Asian American literatures, rhetorical narratology, cognitive narratology, cognitive science, and theory of mind.
